We keep your server’s operating system and software up to date, install security updates every week, review the system logs, and fine-tune performance when needed. When a critical vulnerability comes out, we patch it right away.
We back up the data on your server automatically every day, and you decide where it goes: your own cloud account (for example Amazon S3 or Backblaze B2) or a NAS on your own network. Your data stays yours the whole time. We never copy it to our own storage. We set up and oversee the backups, and restore your data when needed.
We monitor your server’s load, disk usage, and response time remotely, over a secure, encrypted connection. If anything looks off, we step in before it turns into a problem.
Setting up a new server takes more than installing the operating system. We configure the system around your needs, including the network, the firewall, and the services you require. And we only hand it over once everything works flawlessly.
A server can’t stay secure without regular maintenance. Setting it up once isn’t enough. We check the log files and install security updates on a regular schedule, keeping the risk of unauthorized access to a minimum.
We mainly manage Debian and Ubuntu servers, but we’re happy to work with virtually any Linux distribution. Where possible, we prefer long-term support (LTS) releases, because they’re more stable and reliable.
We also handle SSL certificate renewals and DNS settings for your server, so you don’t have to deal with them either. We use Let’s Encrypt certificates, which Certbot renews automatically.
You don’t get just one backup. You can choose from several earlier versions when something needs to be restored. Backups can go to the cloud (Amazon S3, Backblaze B2) or to a NAS on your own local network, so your data never has to leave it.
If your server is currently with another provider, we’ll handle the move with minimal downtime. We walk you through the steps in advance, so the migration goes smoothly and you know exactly what to expect, and when.
